Danielle Gary, M.Ed., was born and raised in Dundee, NY, a small village nestled in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University at Albany and Master of Education from Angelo State University. In 2023, she began a new Adventure as a doctoral student at the University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education, studying Human Development where she hopes to make an impact developing systems to support neurodivergent individuals in educational and workplace environments.
Danielle’s educational certifications include Special Education, General Education Grades 4-8, and School Counseling. She spent 16 years working in public education as a teacher and eventually as a school counselor. She is also certified to facilitate community and school based restorative practices, yoga, mindfulness, and social and emotional learning. Currently, Danielle is an education specialist for the University of Rochester's School of Medicine and Dentistry, where she supports teaching, learning, professional development, equity, and wellness initiatives within the OBGYN Department.
Danielle spends her downtime advocating for exceptional students and their families, working toward creating more equitable and inclusive spaces within schools and communities. She has spent the last decade mentoring parents and caregivers who are new to the world of special education. A fierce advocate for marginalized groups, Danielle has committed her life’s work (both personal and professional) to learning how to better serve and support the empowerment of others.
Adventures in Camelot is her first memoir.
In Camelot, "free time" is rare, but you may find her immersed in reading reseach, digging in the garden, exploring her community with her family, or playing with their border collie!
She’s also likely to be found stirring up some good trouble.
